Wonder

the train it was rolling, the whole earth was shaking

and so I made ready, I watched and I waited for the right time

I saw my car coming, it was calling my name

and so I started running, running for the shame of what I left behind

four days had passed when I started to wonder

as my head grew heavy in the heat of the summer night

but the nights turned to days and the fields blurred together

I kept time by the sun

I kept track of the weather by naming the clouds

and when I was sure that enough time had passed

that I'd seen enough mountains, I’d seen enough grass for my whole life

I gathered my things, gathered all that I had

and so I made ready for the jump and the land

now four years have passed and I have yet to wonder
