new EP cover art (larger).jpg

Blood

you left home to make a life

you swore it was worth the price

you said you counted the cost, that you were already lost

before the worst had kicked in

you told your ma and your pa this was it

so you did what you had to survive

you fought tooth and nail through your life

does the blood on your hand make you more of a man

has it crept through your bones while you sleep

or has it washed out with all of your dreams

you settled down by yourself, and you swore all was well

you paid no mind to the darkness inside

no, that would not pay the bills

but then again, it seems nothing will

you said this is not the end, that much is yet to be said

but quiet as death you just smoked your cigarette

and watched as your life passed you by

that life slowly left from your eyes
